Making Diabetes and Weight-Loss Science Easier to Understand

Health information is everywhere. But finding information that is accurate, evidence-based, understandable, and relevant to everyday Indian life can be surprisingly difficult.

That is why I started medstuffs.com.

I am Mohammad Junaid Mohammad Aslam Rain, an MBBS student with a personal interest in obesity, weight loss, and diabetes.

I am currently living with obesity myself, with a BMI above 30, and I am working on my own weight-loss journey. As I started learning about weight loss, I became increasingly interested in the science behind obesity, nutrition, lifestyle, GLP-1 medications, and medical treatments for weight management.

At the same time, diabetes became personal to me through my family. My mother lives with type 2 diabetes, and seeing her struggle with persistent high blood glucose despite treatment made me want to understand diabetes beyond the basic information we commonly hear.

I started studying diabetes more deeply through resources such as WHO, the American Diabetes Association (ADA), ICMR, NIN, and published research available through PubMed. I wanted to understand the disease, its underlying science, advances in treatment, and the reasoning behind the treatments doctors use.

But there was another problem.

Much of the medical information I was learning was written for healthcare professionals. My mother needed to understand it in simple, everyday language.

That experience became the foundation of medstuffs.com.

Why Medstuffs.com Exists

I created medstuffs.com for people who want real answers to their questions about diabetes and weight loss.

The goal is not to overwhelm you with medical terminology or make complicated health topics sound unnecessarily complicated.

Instead, I want to explain:

  • What is actually happening inside the body
  • Why a disease or condition develops
  • What the scientific evidence tells us
  • How different treatments work
  • Why doctors may recommend particular treatments
  • What newer research and treatments are discovering
  • How these concepts relate to everyday Indian life

The aim is simple:

Understand the problem → understand the science → understand the available solutions.

An Indian Perspective

Health advice does not always work the same way in every population.

Our food, lifestyle, work patterns, social habits, and environment influence how we eat, move, sleep, and manage our health.

That is why medstuffs.com tries to bring an Indian perspective to diabetes and weight-loss education.

We consider real-life situations such as:

  • Indian meals and eating patterns
  • Sedentary work and study lifestyles
  • Lack of time for physical activity
  • Weddings and social gatherings
  • Festivals and changes in eating habits
  • The practical challenges of maintaining healthy habits in India

The goal is not to create unrealistic rules.

It is to explain the science and help readers understand how evidence-based recommendations can fit into real life.

Evidence Comes First

Health information should not be based on viral social-media claims, anecdotes, or miracle promises.

At medstuffs.com, I aim to learn from and reference reliable sources, including WHO, ADA, ICMR, NIN, medical literature, clinical guidelines, and peer-reviewed research indexed in PubMed.

When the evidence is strong, I want to explain it clearly.

When evidence is still developing or uncertain, that uncertainty should also be acknowledged.

Science changes as we learn more. Good health education should reflect that.

What Medstuffs.com Does — and Doesn’t Do

Medstuffs.com is an educational health-information platform.

It exists to explain diseases, their causes, the science behind them, and the treatments and approaches used by healthcare professionals.

It does not replace a doctor or provide individual medical consultation.

I do not diagnose patients, prescribe medications, change treatment plans, or tell people to stop medicines prescribed by their healthcare professionals.

Instead, the purpose is to help you understand the information behind your health condition so that you can have better-informed conversations with your doctor.

Our Mission

To become a trusted, evidence-based source of diabetes and weight-loss education, especially for people living in the Indian context.

I want medstuffs.com to make complicated medical science understandable without sacrificing scientific accuracy.

Our Vision

I want medstuffs.com to grow into an authoritative educational brand in diabetes and weight management — a place where someone can come with a genuine question and find an understandable, evidence-based explanation.

Whether you are newly diagnosed with diabetes, trying to understand your weight, working a sedentary job, or simply trying to make sense of something you have heard about your health, the goal is the same:

You should leave with a better understanding of the problem, the science, and the questions worth discussing with your healthcare professional.

Meet the Founder

Mohammad Junaid Mohammad Aslam Rain
MBBS Student

My interest in diabetes and weight management began with my own experience with obesity and my family’s experience with diabetes.

I am learning these subjects not only as a medical student, but also as someone personally trying to understand weight loss and as a son who wanted to better understand his mother’s diabetes.

That journey is what led to medstuffs.com.

I am still learning, and medicine continues to evolve. My responsibility here is to keep learning, follow credible evidence, communicate it honestly, and make difficult health topics easier for people to understand.

Welcome to medstuffs.com.
